These Vegan False Lashes Are Amazing

Stunningly long, luxe eyelashes can’t always be achieved with mascara alone.

If you aren’t born with naturally standout lashes, the increasingly popular beauty secret—which achieves instantaneous results—is a perfect pair of falsies. With choices from a natural lift to voluminous glam, you can find your ideal look for special occasions like fancy weddings, date nights, or everyday.

False lashes are truly a must if you want your eyes to really pop.

Are False Eyelashes Vegan?

The downside to false lashes is that some of them aren’t vegan.

Many beauty brands make false lashes out of fur from animals such as mink, or they are made using silk. And despite what some salons or brands may claim, mink lashes are not “cruelty-free” or “ethically sourced.”

You may already be familiar with the cruelty behind the fur industry, where small animals such as mink and rabbits are confined in small cages on fur farms and deprived of everything that is natural to them, causing them immense distress and discomfort, and they are eventually killed for their fur. This is where the hairs for false lashes come from.

Making silk for false lashes is equally horrifying: mulberry silkworms are boiled alive for their silk cocoons, which is far from being considered cruelty-free or vegan.

What About False Eyelash Glue?

Another thing to consider when shopping for false lashes is the glue or adhesive used to keep your lashes in place.

The adhesive could contain animal-derived ingredients such as stearic acid, which is derived from pigs’ stomachs, or the glue itself or its ingredients could be tested on animals. (For more on this, read Why You Should Care About Cosmetics Being Cruelty-Free.)

Though beauty companies are slowly moving toward using alternatives to animal testing, it’s still something to be aware of.

Our Favorite Vegan and Cruelty-Free False Lashes

If you don’t want to support the cruelty behind mink and silk lashes, be sure to opt for synthetic or faux mink lashes instead.

Thankfully, there are many brands offering lashes that are made from synthetic or real human hair, or faux mink and faux silk materials that are man-made and vegan-friendly.

Below are 10 brands that offer vegan and cruelty-free lashes. When shopping for lashes not listed here, be sure to check on brands’ websites or product packaging for vegan and cruelty-free certification.

1. Kawaii Girl Cosmetics Tokyo Lashes (part of our Love Your Lashes Bundle)

These stunning synthetic lashes give you an extra wow factor to your look. Luscious and long, but not so long that they will press into your glasses, these lashes are lightweight and easy to apply.

Take care of these beauties properly and they can be worn up to 20 times!

2. e.l.f. Starstruck Luxe Lash Kit

These voluminous lashes will instantly open up your eyes. The lash band that attaches to your eyelids is soft and flexible, making it easier to fit against any eye shape. The double-layer, crisscross pattern of the lashes also provides a thicker effect on the bottom, giving a smoky black liner effect without the need for eyeliner.

Pro tip: to intensify the smoky liner effect, smudge a kohl eyeliner along the lash line before applying the falsies.

3. Tarte Tartiest PRO Lashes

Tarte’s best-selling false lashes, Tartiest PRO, are latex-free falsies that are full, fluttery, and bold, providing instant impact. Choose from 11 versions, from lightweight and wispy “Flirt” to extreme volume “Glamazon.”

Tartiest PRO Lash Adhesive is also vegan and cruelty-free and comes in black or clear formulas that dry quickly.

4. Velour Sassy But Classy

Velour’s vegan mink lashes are designed with wispy layered criss-cross fibers to help enhance the natural volume of your own lashes, and the band that attaches to your lids is thin so it blends into your natural lash line.

Velour’s lash glues are also vegan and cruelty-free, including the Lash & Go Liner, a two-in-one hybrid that acts as both an eyeliner and glue.

5. Lilly Lashes Royalty Lite Faux Mink

Though this brand isn’t completely vegan, Lilly Lashes’ faux mink and synthetic collections are highly rated. Ideal for small, mono lid, or almond-shaped eyes, the Royalty Lite lashes offer a subtle flare and natural volume that is ideal for every day.

Plus, with proper care, these lashes claim they can be used for up to 15 times.

6. Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Elegenza

Anastasia Beverly Hills offers high-quality vegan lashes like these ultra-curly Norvina Elegenza falsies that add volume, length, and thickness to your natural lashes—making mascara totally optional. The flared lashes at the end also help to elongate the look of your eyes.

7. Colourpop Dame Falsies

These faux mink falsies are made from soft synthetic fibers that are lightweight and wispy, but this set is especially impactful because they are long and fluffy without being too dramatic. The classic style of these lashes make them ideal for days when you want to elevate your look.

8. Velour Effortless Lashes Kit

Velour’s all-in-one kit is perfect for first-time lash users. There’s no need to measure and trim to your eye size—just glue and go.

The Mini Too Easy Lash Applicator is designed to make applying and perfecting your false lashes a breeze, and the kit comes with adhesive, too.

9. House of Lashes Siren Double

These Siren Double lashes are designed for double the drama. Combined with extra long, wispy fringes, you’ll be creating an unforgettable look once applied to your lash line.

Save these for special occasions and pair them with House of Lashes’ HOL Dark Lash Adhesive for a show-stopping look.

10. Ardell Professional Demi Whispies

These affordable, fan-favorite lashes provide a whisper-soft flutter with a gorgeous feathering curl. Ardell’s Duo Adhesives are also vegan and cruelty-free and come in a variety of applicators and finishes, including brush-on and tube style.
