Make Kinder Choices by Shopping Cruelty-Free

When we came up with the idea for Kinder Beauty our goal was simple: to make the world a Kinder, more beautiful place by helping people change the way they shop for beauty products. One of the most impactful ways you can make a difference is by simply avoiding products that are tested on animals. Also known as shopping cruelty-free. But there’s more to it than just checking a cosmetic’s packaging for a “cruelty-free” stamp of approval. We’ll break it down for you:

There’s no law in the United States that requires companies to test beauty products or cosmetics ingredients on animals. In fact, as scientists have come up with safer and more effective testing methods, animal testing for cosmetics has even been banned in many parts of the world!

But unfortunately, in mainland China animal testing for these products is required by law. Despite this requirement, some companies continue selling their products there--meaning they’re paying for cruel and useless tests on animals so that they can turn a profit. These not-so-kind companies often use clever wording to disguise the fact that they’re actually paying for animal experiments in China. Some even get away with claiming that they “don’t test on animals”, are “cruelty-free”, or say that they test on animals “only where required by law”.

So how are you supposed to know if a company is truly cruelty-free?

This is where we come in. At Kinder Beauty, we believe that there’s never an excuse for harming animals or the environment, and the good news is that tons of compassionate companies have made the Kinder choice to refuse to sell in China or anywhere that animal testing is required.
