7 Luscious Bar Soaps You'll Want to Try Immediately-Kinder Beauty

7 Luscious Bar Soaps You'll Want to Try Immediately

Let's get this out of the way right now: In the battle between bar soap and liquid, bar is clearly the best on a few levels.

First of all, bar soaps are more sustainable than liquid, as liquid soaps are mostly water weight, and most are housed in (virgin) plastic.

Bar soaps win for better tactile experience, too. What’s better than holding a smooth and creamy bar up to your nose for an olfactory blast of perfection?

Plus, just admit it: you’ve thought about taking a bite out of bar soap before, right? But when was the last time you wanted to drink liquid soap? See what I mean?

Finally, my six-year-old daughter is definitely onto something. Her favorite reason bars are better than liquid soap? There's no risk of hitting that soap pump and having it squirt you right in the eye, or both eyes at the same time, as the case may be.

Whatever your reason for loving bar soaps, there are plenty of great options out there, all worthy of your next soak. May your baths be frequent and the soap bars be plentiful (except for in your eyes, of course).

Here are some vegan, cruelty-free bar soaps we at Kinder Beauty are obsessed with.

1. Trader Joe’s Oatmeal Exfoliant Bar

Trader Joe's Oatmeal Exfoliant Bar

Everything you could ever possibly need is probably at Trader Joe’s, right? And that goes for great deals on bar soap, too. This oatmeal exfoliant bar delivers a creamy luxe lather and a boon to sensitive skin, thanks to the soothing oatmeal. Like anything you buy at Trader Joe’s, stock up on these vegan bars; you may even go through them faster than all that cheap wine.

2. Dr. Bronner’s

Did you know that Dr. Bronner’s makes bar soaps in addition to its iconic liquid soap? While you don’t get the shower reading time the bottle label allows, you do get all the same delicious scents and cleaning power in Bronner’s bar soaps. Always vegan, fair-trade, and sustainably sourced, Dr. Bronner’s supports a number of noble causes, too. From sustainability initiatives to preventing animal cruelty to working to help legalize psychedelics for treatment of mental health issues, the family-owned and operated business is cleaning up the planet in more ways than one.

3.  The Kind Poppy's Sea Salt Detox Exfoliating Soap

Kind Poppy soap

This truly fantastic detoxifying soap provides natural exfoliation, and it's pretty much all we're talking about. I mean, you know we can't get enough ... which is why you've seen The Kind Poppy pop up so much in past Kinder Beauty boxes. These epic sea salt bar soaps are gentle yet super effective, as they promise to renew your skin from head to toe. Ingredients like coconut oil and Himalayan salt are just added pleasures, and I can't enough. Oh, and word to the wise: I'm not supposed to say anything, but let's just say Kinder Beauty subscribers might be treated to another Kinder Poppy product in the very near future.

4. Every Man Jack

In recent years, guys have been pushed toward purchasing liquid soaps that smell like ... well, like a Tide Pod crashed into a Glade Air Freshener. Too bad, because guys (and women who like scents usually labeled "masculine") are just as entitled to normal-scented vegan soaps as the rest of us. Every Man Jack is making that a lot easier. The all-vegetable-based soaps are naturally scented, and like all vegan bar soaps, are better for the planet, too.

5. Kiss My Face

If you’re as old as I am (you’re not), you remember Kiss My Face as essentially the only vegan bar soap available in most health food stores. It proved you don’t need tallow to make a non-glycerin soap. Any olive oil skincare products you see can likely be credited back to Kiss My Face starting the trend. And we’re oh-so-glad they did. These soaps are so deliciously fragrant. Kiss My Face? Yes, please. And all the rest, maybe, too.

6. Shea Moisture

What Shea Moisture has proven it can do for your hair, it can also do for your bod with its shea-based bar soaps. Using moisture-locking shea butter, this lathery, creamy delight will leave your skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. Always cruelty-free and made with natural ingredients, you can find Shea Moisture products at more locations these days than ever. (Hint: It’s at Target.)

7. Sam’s Natural

Sam's Natural Soap

What if grit and grime want to be washed away? And all this time, those ineffective soaps you’ve been using have failed to help this dirt destiny? Sam’s Natural soaps are here to do the job, once and for all. You won’t find any funky ingredients here, just pure and recognizable plants that were made to scrub you clean. So you can send that grit and grime off real classy, you know?
